One day, one elsewhere n° 18
Every day, you can find a relaxed morning to keep your mind open to the world by subscribing to the blog. All you have to do is click on the blue banner at the bottom of the article!

Far from the bustling cities of Rajasthan, arrive in the wonderful region of Shekawati and fall under the old-fashioned charm of the old abandoned havelis.

To remain speechless in front of the meticulous work on the frescoes left thus abandoned, since the circuits of the rich merchants of another time have changed course, on a beautiful morning.

Admire the works of art that adorn most of these now abandoned palaces.

Be astonished by the contrast between the modern bakelite seats, randomly placed behind these old walls, witnessing the richness of the time spent on the Silk Road.

Be impressed by the height of the buildings.

Resist the vertigo and take a look into the inner courtyard once reserved for women.

Catch life flowing peacefully in the courtyard of the neighbouring Haveli. Distinguish a woman who does her dishes.

Through a half-open window, you can see another haveli on the right and a few others on the left.

Have fun getting lost in this practically deserted village. Stroll through the streets where you may only come across one or two dogs in the company of a cow. Enjoy the reflections of the sun on the richly decorated balconies.

Be enthralled by the enchantment of the murals which illustrate both local life, with its mythological characters, and the great discoveries of the western world in recent centuries. Imagine the caravanners who stopped for a while in the village, taking jewellery, spices and teas with them to our regions. To dream for a moment that life would resume its course.
