« One day, one elsewhere » ended with the deconfinement in France. Now it’s time for « One day, one discovery »: strolls in search of lights and beautiful spaces to open up new horizons for 2021… close to you! January 1st being in 30 days, this article is therefore D-30.

Go out at the end of the day to see if the Belfort lion stretches and yawns as they say, in the evening in the middle of the Place Denfert-Rochereau.

Sometimes he would even go for a walk on the side of the Boulevard St Jacques, to walk down the plane tree alley in a cat-like way.

Unless he is simply rolling around in the grass at the foot of tall trees.

You can also, some evenings, see him walking at wolf’s pace, towards the big tower, to go and have a closer look at the tower that looks at him with a haughty air, behind the trees on the side of the rue Froidevaux.

Just a little before nightfall, be surprised to come across him in front of the lion’s mansion, on the avenue du général Leclerc, and then to see him enter his mansion with a clear air.

It is said to have here, on the first floor, a private suite with a view of the square.

Chatting at the Orly-Bus stop, with frightened travellers who tell that the lion even tried, in the early evening, to get on a bus to visit his cousin, on the lawn of Montsouris Park.

But, inhabitants of the fourteenth, rest assured!

There is no risk of him disappearing for more than two hours at a time, because what he likes more than anything else is to sit proudly under the gaze of the large Haussmann-style buildings in the square, all paved with cobblestones?

… to frighten the pigeons that keep his head spinning all day long.
