One day, one elsewhere n° 26
Every day, you can find a relaxed morning to keep your mind open to the world by subscribing to the blog. All you have to do is click on the blue banner at the bottom of the article!
From dawn, walk on the beach of Perumpally, in the backwaters of South Kerala. Meet a man who is about to take to the sea.

Before your eyes still asleep, watch him pull his raft on the sandy beach. Visualise the two parallel tracks drawn by the ropes on the white sand.

On the right, feel the presence of an observer who also seems to be scrutinising the manoeuvre.

See a second man with a small seal who arrives to lend a hand to the fisherman who is storming the Arabian Sea.

Discover that the man with the seal ensures that the departure goes smoothly, watching out for wave returns which can be fatal when you set sail on these frail gondolas.

Note that the observer stands ready to take off just in case.

Visualise that man is now pushing the skiff towards the open sea. Wondering where the man is going to settle, the net taking up most of the space on the small boat,

Attend the colleague’s return to the top of the beach as the raft goes out to sea.

To perceive that the observer changes his mind and chooses to remain there contemplating the sea.

To discern the fisherman who, with an agile leap, jumps on the raft, revealing his reflection in the furrows left by the skiff.

Watching the man on his knees on the raft who can now start rowing.

Take a look to the right; the white heron is now waiting for the return of the peach.

Distinguish the fisherman who, sitting at the front of the boat, has a firm scull. Sit on the beach, to admire the ricochets which gush out of the water, on the right, with each stroke of the oar.

Being suddenly dumbfounded by the wave that raises the hail in its momentum. The boat then seems ready to take off.

Like the heron, scan the horizon with your eyes and be suddenly astonished to no longer see the boat.

After a few seconds, discern the top of the net and the fisherman’s skull emerging from the waves.

Locate the raft emerging from the boiling of the wave. Admire the fisherman returning to the sea, peacefully, in perfect control of the elements.

To be honoured to have attended such a show, at dawn, in the company of a white heron. The day promises to be beautiful.

Admire the sailor who can now begin to deploy his nets.

Glimpse in the distance the colourful boats of another type of fisherman.

Having fun with the sand raven that managed to catch a fish while staying on the shore.
