A visit to the dancers of the air

We were delighted to find an old tandem bike for rent, forgotten by two Canadians at a Dutchman’s house after a tour of Europe. This will allow us to go for a ride in the heart of the marshes.

Decide to go to Latte to see the storks nesting in the marshes.

To be amazed by a stork feeding its young.

After having fed the little family, she goes back to incubating the chicks.

A few moments later, be surprised to hear the tap of the stork.

And admire her again as she feeds her young.

To look up to the sky and be amazed by the spectacle that is now taking place. To witness a real ballet.

Being blown away by the scale of the wings spread across the sky.

Catch a glimpse of another stork nesting on top of a large tree.

And suddenly witness with enthusiasm the dance of these noble ladies as they land on the tops of the highest trees.

In perfect balance above the branches…

…admire the precision of the flight and landing.

Stand in awe of the dance of the wings as they bend to allow the stork to land exactly where it wants.

To simply contemplate the show.

Attend the ballet and lose track of time.

Admire the bird as it balances itself on the thinnest of branches.

Enjoy the delightful movements of the wings against the sky.

Watch the bird take off again.

Seeing it pass right over our heads.

Distinguish a little further a couple in full love parade.

Enjoy watching them turn their heads at the same time and look together in the same direction.

To be surprised to see them contorting themselves to such an extent that one can no longer distinguish either of the storks.

Smile to see them cuddling.

To be surprised once again by the tap dancing of their long beaks in their love song.

To be fascinated by this immersion in another universe and to think that nature is really fascinating.
